Sunrise in the West

It's still dark, but within a short while another day will begin.  Turtle doves are cooing and robins are awake and singing their greeting to the new day.  The eastern sky is starting to lighten with the coming of the rising sun.  An owl says good morning and the bustle of nature begins to stir.

As the earth continues to turn, the sun appears to move higher in the eastern sky turning color as it rises.  The sky turns from pale yellows, to oranges, to sometimes almost red, depending on the particles hanging in the atmosphere.  When clouds are present, another aspect is added to the panorama unfolding with passing minutes.  More and more objects are coming into view and the landscape is coming to life as everything starts to reflect the light of the early morning sun.

A slight breeze alerts the senses to the flavors of newly mown grass,  flowers that are ready to receive the warming rays of the sun,  the whisper of the leaves in the trees and the bustle of an awakening human population and it's daily race against the clock.

It's 4:30a.m.  In the West.
